Výběrové řízení na vedoucí/ho Visiting Artists’ Studio (říjen 2026 – leden 2027 a únor 2027 – červen 2027)
The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FFA BUT) announces an open call for the academic position(s) (max. 1.0 FTE in total) of Leading teacher(s) at the Visiting Artists’ Studio for two separate periods: Winter semester 2026/2027 (October 2026 – January 2027) and Summer semester 2026/2027 (February 2027 – June 2027).
Applicants may apply for one or both periods, but can be selected for only one. Applicants must indicate in their application which period they prefer. One candidate (individual, tandem, or collective) will be selected for each period.
Job Description:
The leading teacher(s) at the Visiting Artists’ Studio for the Winter semester 2026/2027 or the Summer semester 2026/2027 will lead weekly studio meetings (Wednesdays) and will be available for individual consultations with students throughout the semester. They will implement the pedagogical approach they have proposed. In collaboration with the studio assistant, they will design the framework for final reviews and select members for the review committee. They will also actively participate in promoting the studio and planning, as well as attending potential excursions or field trips. It is also possible to apply for the position in a tandem or collective; in such cases, the remuneration will be divided accordingly.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Teaching experience in the field of art.
- A proven track record in international artistic projects or contemporary art research.
- International recognition (e.g. awards, stipends, scholarships, residencies).
- A relevant pedagogical approach.
The Application Must Include:
- A structured CV with current contact information.
- A conceptual plan for teaching activities at the Visiting Artists’ Studio.
- A detailed proposal of the semester-long teaching structure (which may also include a proposal for block teaching and a combination of in-person and online teaching; however, online teaching may comprise a maximum of 20% of the total teaching time).
