Příslušnice a příslušníci různých menšin sdílejí společné dědictví velkých dějin, současně ale jejich kolektivní identitu utvářejí osobnosti a události, které se do učebnic dějepisu nedostaly. Povědomí komunitní minulosti je důležité, protože ukazuje, že tu neheterosexuální lidé byli vždycky, a místa komunitní paměti nám připomínají, že byli všude. Snaha jejich zkušenost ignorovat, vytěsnit nebo rovnou vymazat ale také. Přednáška ukáže několik příběhů z minulosti gayů, leseb a transgender osobností a jak se tyto příběhy propsaly do topografie Prahy. Řeč bude o Jiřím Karáskovi ze Lvovic, Janu Zrzavém, Toyen, drag performerovi Otu Tasinatovi, sportovci Zděňku Koubkovi nebo malířce Toni Ebel, ale také o izolovaných památkách či místech setkávání a seznamování. Součástí přednášky bude představení knihy Obrazy jiné touhy: Queer umění a vizualita v českých zemích, kterou vydalo univerzitní nakladatelství Vysokého učení technického v Brně VUTIUM.

Members of various minorities share a common heritage of great history, but at the same time their collective identity is shaped by personalities and events that have not made it into history textbooks. Awareness of the community past is important because it shows that non-heterosexual people have always been here, and places of community memory remind us that they have been everywhere. The attempt to ignore, displace or even erase their experience is also. The lecture will show several stories from the past of gays, lesbians and transgender personalities and how these stories have seeped into the topography of Prague. We will talk about Jiří Karásek from Lvovice, Jan Zrzavý, Toyen, drag performer Oto Tasinat, athlete Zděňek Koubek or painter Toni Ebel, but also about isolated monuments or places of meeting and acquaintance. The lecture will include a presentation of the book Images of Other Desires: Queer Art and Visuality in the Czech Lands, published by the university publishing house of the Brno University of Technology VUTIUM.
