FFA SUMMER SCHOOLS 2026: Summer School of Life Drawing and Figurative Drawing — Applications Open Until June 15, 2026
FFA Summer Schools offer an opportunity to spend part of your summer creatively. Through these summer schools, you will learn about artistic techniques, develop your creative skills, and meet interesting people. FFA Summer Schools are open to the general public, beginners with an interest in and passion for art, as well as those interested in future study at art schools, who can familiarize themselves with the FFA environment and use the summer schools as part of their preparation for entrance exams.
SUMMER SCHOOL OF LIFE DRAWING AND FIGURATIVE DRAWING
The Summer School of Life Drawing and Figurative Drawing builds on a long-standing tradition of intensive summer teaching and offers a unique opportunity to deepen skills in academic drawing of the nude, the human figure, and portraiture based on live models and plaster casts. The summer school is intended for anyone interested in academic figure drawing, as well as applicants to art schools.
The aim of the summer school is to introduce participants to various drawing methods for the analysis and study of the human figure and to effective techniques for its representation in drawing. After completing the summer school, participants will gain professional knowledge applicable both to their own artistic practice and to preparation for entrance examinations.

- Dates: June 29 – July 3, 2026
- Duration: 40 teaching hours, daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a lunch break
- Venue: Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology, Údolní Campus, entrance from Úvoz 33, building U1 – rooms 129 and 137
- Fee: CZK 6,000
The fee includes all materials and art supplies.
After receiving your application, the instructor will provide the bank account number for cashless payment. A place in the Summer School of Life Drawing and Figurative Drawing will be reserved upon receipt of the course fee payment.

Instructor Profile
Ján Lastomirský is a visual artist, illustrator, and university lecturer. His work is characterized by an expressive style and a deep interest in drawing, painting, and comic-book narration. At the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology, he works as an assistant in the Traditional Media Studio, where he supervises and teaches evening drawing courses and regular public drawing courses. In both his theoretical and practical work, he explores interpretations of the “genius loci” of peripheral and industrial landscapes in painting and photography.
Required Participant Knowledge
Applicants from the general public are expected to have basic knowledge of academic drawing, such as an understanding of linear perspective.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend the summer school, you may arrange a substitute participant. If you cancel up to 14 days before the beginning of the summer school (according to the individual course start dates), the organizer will charge a cancellation fee amounting to 20% of the total paid amount. In the case of later cancellation, the paid fees are non-refundable. The organizer reserves the right to cancel individual summer school courses in the event of insufficient enrollment for a given session. If the course is cancelled by the organizer, the paid amount will be refunded in full.
