Rooted Everywhere Symposium – connecting FFA students and alumni, 8–21 Sep 2025, Distillery, FFA Gallery
From September 8 to 21, 2025, the third annual art symposium Rooted Everywhere will take place at the Distillery industrial complex and the FFA Gallery (Galerie FaVU) at Pekařská 78 in Brno, focusing on bringing together and fostering collaboration between FFA students and alumni.
The Rooted Everywhere symposium is organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology in cooperation with the všuderajče collective. Its aim is to create new, often intergenerational, connections between artists and to serve as a space for sharing experiences, opening new dialogues, and artistic collaboration between people who graduated from the same educational institution. The collective also strives to open up discussion on topics such as collaboration, collective practice, and the principles of non-competition. A total of 45 artists will participate in this year's symposium, who were again selected through an open call and divided into six creative groups based on common thematic areas.
This year's symposium will take place in two phases. The first, internal week will be devoted to intensive collaboration among participants within the author groups and the joint creation of works of art. The second week, from September 16 to 20, 2025, will feature a public accompanying program offering the panel discussion, the workshop, and the launch of the new semester FaVU New Season 2025. The culmination of the joint work of FFA students and alumni will be the opening on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 17 to 20, and those interested will also be able to learn more about the exhibited works and the concept of the symposium itself during two guided tours.
