Presentation of the book Vašulkas Reloaded, 26 March 2026 18:00, ArtMap Bookstore in Prague
On Thursday, 26 March 2026, at 18:00, we invite you to the presentation of the publication Vašulkas Reloaded: Vašulka Kitchen Reader #2, published by FFA BUT and Vašulka Kitchen Brno.The book will be presented by Lenka Dolanová. Miloš Vojtěchovský will briefly reflect on the topicality of Woody Vašulka's conception of technology, his relationship to computers, especially in connection with the ongoing discussion about technofeudalism and the danger that the development of artificial intelligence poses to human civilization. Director Jiří Vanýsek, who shared membership in the so-called Jazz Club with Vašulka in the 1950s, will share his memories of the "Brno years." From 1962, Vanýsek was Woody's colleague at FAMU. Director and operator of Kino Atlas Vít Janeček spent some time working on Vašulka's documentary work and was in close contact with him for many years. We will screen an excerpt from an unknown documentary about Woody and Steina.
