The FFA Gallery invites to Robert Tilbury’s exhibition Silver Crust Scenario and presents the 2026 exhibition programme
The FFA Gallery invites you to the opening of the exhibition Silver Crust Scenario by Viennese digital artist Robert Tilbury, which will inaugurate this year’s exhibition programme on 28 January 2026. Tilbury will present his work in the Czech Republic for the first time, offering visitors digital collages that oscillate between painting, photography, and sculpture. The gallery also reminds visitors that in 2025 it relocated from its original premises at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology, currently undergoing reconstruction, to a former 19th-century distillery at Pekařská 78 in Brno.
Robert Tilbury’s exhibition project responds directly to pressing contemporary questions: how do digital images shape our understanding of the body? How are technology and media transforming narratives of intimacy, identity, and belonging? “Mythology is a central mechanism of social understanding—but what does that mean in a globalised era hyper-fixated on surveillance and facts, yet unsettled by deepfakes and generative AI?” asks Orion Jenkins in the exhibition’s curatorial text. Silver Crust Scenario explores this terrain at the intersections of the body, technology, and mythology. The exhibition will be open until 4 March 2026.
In 2026, the FFA Gallery will present seven exhibitions, all of which reflect on current social issues and emotional tensions in today’s algorithmic society. In March, visitors will be able to see Swarming Tongues by Nikola Balberčáková, an artist whose work addresses the medicalisation of emotions and anxieties in late capitalism. This will be followed by an exhibition by the Ukrainian–Austrian collective Anzhelika Palyvoda, Céline Struger, and Sofiia Yesakova, entitled Echoes That Refuse to Fade, characterised by a sombre visual language, fragmentary narrative, and layered symbolism. In June, the FFA Gallery will present French-Belgian artist Tristan Gac with the exhibition NO FATE, which explores the sentimental and lyrical dimensions of images and combines emotional intensity with elements of popular culture. This will be followed by Personal Mythologies, an exhibition by FFA students Clara Goldenstein, Maeda Hoseini, Nikoleta Radišić, and Viktória Citráková. In September, the gallery will present Godly Tiller by Slovak and Polish painters Lucia Dubnická, Paweł Sobczak, and Oskar Felber, curated by Maroš Bavoľár. At the end of October, the exhibition Lost and Found by Ruins of Fun by Magdalena Rybanská is planned, focusing on the fragmentation of attention and new ways of processing information. The final exhibition of 2026 will be the project Dressing… Mannequin Episode 4, presenting the work of Viennese artists Janina Weißengruber, Olga Mathilde Gärtner, and Nana Sorgo.
The gallery programme is based on an annual open call for submissions, with selections made by the FFA Gallery Advisory Board, composed of representatives of the faculty, the professional community, and the curatorial team. In 2026, a record 96 projects from the Czech Republic and abroad were submitted to the call.
