Position opening at FFA BUT: Academic Staff Position in the Department of Audiovisual Technology, app. deadline 30 Aug 2025
The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FFA BUT), located at Údolní 244/53, Brno, is offering an academic staff position (at the level of Assistant, or Assistant Professor)* in the Department of Audiovisual Technology, with an expected start date of 15 September 2025. Within the Department, up to one part-time position (0.5 FTE) is available, subject to individual agreement on teaching load and further involvement in departmental activities.
Job Description
- Organising and contributing to the teaching of the courses Audiovisual Technology Workshop 1–6 and Workshop 1–2,
- Providing feedback to students, including supervising and reviewing Bachelor’s and Master’s theses,
- Monitoring developments in art education and integrating innovative techniques into teaching practice,
- Participating in the conception and direction of the Department within the degree programmes Fine Arts and Design,
- Co-ordinating communication with, and support for, the FFA Label (a collective platform that provides space for presenting and archiving musical and sonic projects by members of the academic community, including alumni and friends of the faculty),
- Participating in the artistic and research activities of the faculty.
Requirements
- A university degree (minimum Master’s),
- Proficiency in Czech and English at a communicative level,
- Organisational and teamwork skills,
- Pedagogical skills and experience in the field of art and/or design (own research or artistic practice).
