Workshop with Barbora Zentková and Julia Gryboś for FFA students, 8–9 Dec 2025

The workshop Threshold State, led by the creative duo Barbora Zentková & Julia Gryboś, focuses on the artistic process within conditions of limitation—temporal, spatial, or material. It responds to current social and ecological challenges through principles of adaptation, recycling, and sustainability in art practice. Students will engage with upcycling methods and the re-evaluation of available resources, seeking new forms and means of expression emerging from their existing body of work. The aim of the workshop is to identify the essential elements of each participant’s artistic language and to transform these principles and methods into new contexts and conditions—as a way of cultivating creative resilience, innovation, and a redefinition of artistic identity within the framework of precarity and limitation.

Schedule:

• First day – 8 December 2025
  12:00–14:00 – Artist talk and introduction to the workshop theme
  15:00–17:00 – Discussion of participants’ ideas, exploration of available materials and tools
• Second day – 9 December 2025
  10:00–12:00 – Work with available materials and tools
  13:00–15:00 – Presentation of outcomes, feedback, and discussion
