MODULES – exhibition of final works of the Spatial Design Studio at FFA, opening 28 May 2025 17:30, Špilberk Castle
The Brno City Gallery has long-term cooperation with the Spatial Design Studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts, BUT. Within its framework, the gallery's curator - Ilona Víchová - has been working on committees for evaluating bachelor's and master's theses for many years. This year, for the first time, some of the final theses were evaluated right here, in the premises of Špilberk Castle, where a committee consisting of a number of experts met on May 23, 2025. On Wednesday 28 May 2025, the student works will be made available to the public in the form of an exhibition called Modules, whose individual installations will be located in four separate halls in the west wing of the castle.
The exhibiting students are Aneta Chalabalová, Katarína Marošiová, Lukáš Vacek (diploma works) and Jana Krajná (bachelor work). These authors innovatively focus on the overlaps of the visual image towards its dematerialized or digital form, they deal with the possibilities of sound and its connection to the viewer's perceptual apparatus, as well as the topic of the viewer's participation in the transformation and effect of a work of art, thereby exemplarily representing the focus of their home studio. The exhibition will run until 27 July 2025 and is part of the exhibition project Gambit / Diploma works FFA 2025, which will open on 25 June 2025 at 16:00 in the House of the Lords of Kunštát in Brno.
