Mikuláš Macháček is a co-author of the new visual identity for the Museum of Prague
Muzeum Prahy (Museum of Prague) has a new visual identity, created by the zetzetzet studio as part of a design competition organised by Czechdesign. The concept, developed by Mikuláš Macháček (lecturer at FFA BUT), Anna Macháčková and Šárka Zíková from the zetzetzet studio, embraces playfulness, draws on an original colour palette, and revives the griffin symbol historically associated with the museum.
“In our interpretation, the griffin awakens from its role as a motionless guardian of the treasure at the main building on Florenc and, in the new logo, boldly runs towards the people,” explains Mikuláš Macháček.
According to the jury of the design competition, the winning concept is a solid cornerstone for a modern and dynamic brand that the museum wishes to present. It can be easily animated, and the wide range of possible forms deriving from its outline ensures both clear recognisability and sufficient variability.
