Open Call for FFA Students – Loans of Artwork to the Artotéka and BUT Spaces, deadline 30 Nov 2024

FFA offers students the opportunity to showcase their works in the Artotéka of the Moravian Gallery in Brno and in the spaces of other units of BUT.

Loans to Artotéka

Artotéka is a non-profit project of the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The aim of Artotéka is to cultivate the general public and raise awareness of contemporary art. It offers the public the opportunity to borrow an original artwork for their private home or to enhance the interior of a public institution or corporate office. More information can be found at https://artoteka.moravska-galerie.cz.

Your work in the Artotéka will be in good company with pieces by renowned artists. Your work will contribute to public interest in contemporary art. The presentation of your work on the Artotéka website will be accompanied by a biography and links to your portfolio.

The loan will be rewarded by FFA with a stipend of 3,000 CZK per year, paid in two instalments.

Loans to BUT Spaces

Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to the aesthetic enhancement and cultivation of the working and representative spaces of the university, thereby improving the working environment for our colleagues. For FaVU, this service has a representative function, introducing other BUT units to our activities and outputs. For you, these loans provide an opportunity to publicly showcase your works.

The primary platform is an image gallery on the faculty's website: https://www.favu.vut.cz/verejnost/sluzby/nabidka-studentskych-del, where interested parties can select a work and subsequently contact FaVU to arrange the next steps.

The loan will be rewarded with a stipend of 2,000–4,000 CZK per year, but only in case of a loan agreement.

How to Submit Your Works for Loan?

Please send photos of your works that you wish to offer for selection, including dimensions and descriptions, by 30 November 2024 to the email address klodova@favu.vut.cz (maximum email size including attachments is 15 MB). Specify whether you are interested in selection for the Artotéka, for BUT spaces, or both.

The selection will be made by a committee consisting of representatives from the Moravian Gallery in Brno and FaVU. Your works will be loaned for an agreed period, with a maximum duration corresponding to your period of study. The loan will be governed by a License Agreement and a Loan Agreement, which we will provide upon request in advance. For loans to BUT spaces, the agreement will be concluded when a specific work is selected by BUT. Authors retain the right to temporarily withdraw their work for exhibition purposes. Authors must ensure that the work remains available for the entire duration of its listing in the database.
