Researcher Denisa Vídeňská in Ladislav Jackson's podcast about queer history
In January 2026, art historian and FFA lecturer Ladislav Jackson launched his podcast Šejdrem. The podcast features interviews with historians, archivists, and activists who focus on preserving the past of LGBTIQ+ people. The podcast (only in Czech) is available on podcast platforms and is part of an effort to popularize long-term research on queer history and culture. The guest of the first episode was historian Denisa Vídeňská, who is currently a post-doc researcher at the FFA Research Center. She talked about her journey to researching and writing queer history, focusing primarily on her doctoral research on lesbian history and on the author, activist, and dancer Lída Merlínová (1906–1988). She also discussed what queer history should strive to be, as well as the challenges that early-career researchers may face and how these can be overcome.
