Summer School for FFA Academic Staff, 12–15 June 2025, Slavonice
Today, 12 June 2025, the first off-site Summer School for FFA Academic Staff begins at the Community Centre in Slavonice, organised by the Faculty in collaboration with the Centre for Transformative Education and the Institute of Anxiety. The Summer School provides a facilitated space for reflection on teaching practices, addresses contemporary issues related to art education, and creates opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogue. The programme is based on themes identified during conversations with faculty members throughout the past semester. Participants will engage with topics presented by the Institute for Nonviolent Communication, explore challenging scenarios in teaching, and discuss boundaries between professional roles. The open formats of Open Space and Sunday’s Pro-Action Café will offer participants opportunities to share specific experiences and collaboratively seek innovative approaches to teaching and its institutional context. The Summer School also emphasises informal interactions—such as communal meals, evening programmes, musical performances, and the possibility for family involvement. Childcare facilities are provided, enabling participation for staff with young children. This Summer School in Slavonice introduces a new approach to supporting and developing the pedagogical community at FFA, aiming to enhance the quality of teaching through shared reflection on the conditions in which art education occurs.
