Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The course is concluded with an exam. To be admitted to the exam, students must complete all ongoing assignments according to the teachers´ requirements.
The oral exam verifies the ability of students to apply the topics presented in the course to a model task.
Aims
After completing the course, students should be able to:
- formulate a design challenge;
- create a prototype based on findings from research activities, while considering the diverse needs of its future users;
- know the principles and methods of participatory design and be able to use them in co-design with users;
- have an overview of qualitative and quantitative methods for prototype testing and be able to determine testing goals and methods for a specific context;
- plan and critically reflect on the use of technology in addressing design challenges;
- reflect on their practice from the perspective of sustainability and ethics;
- know the approaches of speculative, transitional, and systems-oriented design;
- be familiar with examples of alternative and critical design practices;
- create an implementation strategy for outcomes of design process;
- apply the discussed methods and principles in own projects.
