    HMOT

Stas Sharifullin, also known as HMOT, is a Siberian sound artist, curator and researcher. Together with his partner Julia Sharifullin, he runs the label Klammklang, connecting unknown and outsider sounds from the Eastern diaspora. As a researcher, he focuses on the epistemology of sound and the audible and critical interpretation of contemporary states of music production. As an artist, he explores the position of the individual in relation to power and authority. Stas is a laureate of the Sergey Kuryokhin Award and holds a PhD in Philology. His works, ranging from lectures and performances to installations and interventions, have contributed to festivals and exhibitions such as Manifesta, CTM Festival, Unsound, Ural Industrial Biennial and others.
