Tereza Kalousová, a FFA Post-mag participant, and Yuliya Bokhan, a FFA alumna, are among the laureates of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2026
We congratulate this year’s laureates of Ceny Jindřicha Chalupeckého 2026 (the Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2026), who are Yuliya Bokhan, Tereza Kalousová and Kolektiv Prádelna!Yuliya Bokhan completed her studies in Painting Studio 1 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology. In her practice, she focuses on working with space and on ways of drawing the viewer into it and enabling a direct experience of the exhibited forms. Using painting, collage, video and sound, she creates multimedia works at the intersection of image, object and installation, which can appear both intense and expressive as well as subtle and sensitive. In her work, she combines references to spiritual and historical motifs with personal, existential and psychological reflection. She is interested in the tension between external and internal reality, between the individual and other people, and between different layers of lived experience.
Tereza Kalousová is a visual artist and architect who is currently part of the post-master’s programme at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology. In her practice, she works across different media: video, sculpture, installation and text. She reflects on how digital technologies and contemporary economic and political systems shape our perception of our own bodies, time and space. She is interested in threshold situations in which established forms and systems cannot continue smoothly, yet cannot fully collapse either. She focuses on how we try to find our bearings in such moments, and what happens to the human body, to closeness and to language, which at times ceases to function. Her work is grounded in personal experience, which she uses as a tool for grasping broader social and systemic contexts.
The ceremonial announcement of the laureates took place on 12 February 2026 at Prague’s Divadlo X10. Their joint exhibition will take place from 21 October at Galerie Plato in Ostrava.
