FFA student at the Student Games Festival in Warsaw
Patrik Fejkl, a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts BUT, took part in the international Student Games Festival in Warsaw together with Jakub Pokorný from the Faculty of Information Technology BUT. Their game Joyscrolller was among the 22 nominated titles, selected from more than 192 submitted games. Joyscrolller is a satirical game about “doomscrolling” and dopamine addiction. Players must keep scrolling and avoid advertisements, thoughts, and other distractions to avoid going to sleep. The game was originally created during a game jam organized by the FIT BUT student union. At the festival, Patrik Fejkl and Jakub Pokorný presented it as a student team representing BUT. A total of four Czech teams were among the nominees. The Student Games Festival is the first international independent celebration of student-made video games, bringing together student game creators and leading voices from the games industry and game education.
