Echoes that refuse to fade – Anzhelika Palyvoda, Céline Struger, Sofiia Yesakova29 April – 10 June 2026
opening: 29 April 2026, 18:00
curator: Massimiliano Maglione
Galerie FaVU, Pekařská 436/78, Brno (Distillery)
The exhibition brings together three artistic voices – Anzhelika Palyvoda, Sofiia Yesakova, and Celine Struger – in a shared reflection on how memories of authoritarian structures and rules persist in the present, not clear, but as distorted echo. Each artist engages with the past not as given history but as the ghostly, flickering, and alive residual POV of opressing forces clinging to surfaces, images, and materials. The works resist the linearity of time; they allow the past to seep into the now through visual cracks, material decay, and sensorial traces. The exhibition introduces the architectural concept of the anatomic theatre: A site, merely constructed for everyone to see what is going on during the dissection of a body. A paradigm of that is consensus: The consensus of silent witnessing, while not interfering in the violent act.

The project is realised with the financial support of the Statutory City of Brno and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
