Sidsel Meineche Hansen: Inner Child, 20 Dec 2021 12:00 (on-line)

Sidsel Meineche Hansen is a London-based artist whose practice spans a diverse range of traditional and new media, including sculptures, woodcut prints, Computer Generated Imagery, VR animations, and other digital media. Sidsel Meineche Hansen`s artworks and installations are based on her ongoing enquiry into virtual and robotic bodies and their relationship to human labor within the gaming, pornographic, and tech industries. In her presentation for the Feminist seminar, she will talk about her current exhibition Inner Child at Bergen Kunsthall https://www.e-flux.com/announcements/426887/martine-symsshe-mad-season-onesidsel-meineche-hanseninner-child/ featuring a newly commissioned Virtual Reality experience together with recent sculptural works. The artworks, based on the artist’s interest in the healing phenomena of the “inner child”, will be discussed in connection to Paul B. Preciado`s Can the Monster Speak? which is a critique of the psychoanalysis from the perspective of transgender and non-binary people marginalized by the psychoanalytic establishment.
