Degree Studies in English

At the FFA, there is currently one study programme in English, which is the Master's programme in Fine Art and Design.

The Master's degree programme in Fine Art and Design (FAAD) is overseen mainly by the following faculty staff:

  1. FAAD Programme Assistant (consultations on students' practical work, assistance to students in the realization of art and design work, alongside the selected studio tutors): Kristína Jamrichová;
  2. FAAD Programme Coordinator (advice on study plans and feedback): Lenka Veselá;
  3. FFA International Office (advice and solutions for common operational and organisational matters, facilitation of contacts with tutors, etc.): Ján Podracký.

Grades and Credits

Similarly to other Czech universities, Brno University of Technology uses the European Credit Transfer System. The number of ECTS credits is a value allocated to a course to describe the student workload. The students are awarded the credits if they complete the course successfully. The ECTS grading scale is based on the rank of a student in a given assessment, that is how he/she performed relative to other students. However, the Czech educational system does not require that all students be graded after completion of a course. Therefore, a big proportion of courses taught at Brno University of Technology are conceived in such a way that the students are awarded credits but no grade – either they pass (P) and are awarded the credits, or fail (F) and are awarded no credits. The FFA BUT confirms that it uses the following ECTS grading scale:
