Original Abstract

This paper deals with the research of frequency dependence of capacitance, conductivity and relative permittivity of building materials. As the internal moisture content of a building material changes, the conductivity, relative permittivity and capacitance of the material also change. Using non-destructive dielectric measurements by means of the parallel plate method, the frequency dependence of these parameters can be measured in a humidification chamber for different moisture contents of building materials such as brick, plasterboard and wood. The measured data should provide realistic input parameters for electrostatic analysis and further experimental measurements of building materials in terms of absorption and propagation of air ions. Air ions occur naturally in the environment and represent a natural environment for humans. In indoor areas, their concentration is influenced by the absorption of building materials, which is highly dependent on the discussed electrical parameters.
