Rooted Everywhere Symposium – connecting FFA students and alumni, 16–22 Sep 2024, Distillery

From 16 September 2024 to 22 September 2024, Distillery (Pekařská 78, Brno) will host the second edition of the art symposium Rooted Everywhere, which focuses on the meeting and collaboration of FFA students and alumni.

The symposium Rooted Everywhere is organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology in collaboration with the všuderajče collective, whose aim is to create situations of non-competitive meeting and artistic collaboration of people coming from the same educational institution and to open discussions on related topics. The first edition of the symposium under the title "Všude rajče" took place in 2023 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Fine Arts and initiated further active cooperation between the collective and FFA with a focus on the alumni of the faculty. The curatorial concept of the current edition of the symposium, the participation in which was born out of an open call, is a space for meeting, establishing cooperation, discussion, sharing, and also creating an environment open to all, in which one can present one's own and collaborative work.

During the whole week from 16 to 22 September, Distillery will host a series of procedural work and artistic activities of individual artist groups, as well as a public accompanying programme in the form of panel discussions, workshops, guided tours and the opening of the FFA New Season. The artistic outputs of the participants will be layered over the course of the week and will present their final form at the opening on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The collective všuderajče currently consists of Lucia Bergamaschi, Natália Drevenáková, Magdalena Šimurdová, Hana Magdoňová.
