Lenka Veselá at the International Anthropological Conference in Durham, UK
Lenka Veselá, lecturer and researcher at FFA BUT, participated in the two-day international conference Health, Environment, and Anthropology (HEAT) 2025, held from April 23 to 24, 2025, in Durham, UK. The event, organized by Durham and Edinburgh universities under the auspices of the Royal Anthropological Institute, focused on the theme of planetary health and the environment. Its aim was to foster dialogue across the wide spectrum of contemporary anthropology. The conference featured 20 panels grouped into six thematic streams. Lenka Veselá presented her contribution within Stream 1: Toxicities, as part of the panel titled “Intimate Pollution: Hormones as Mediators of Health and Environment Across Species, Place, and Time.” Her paper addressed the presence and bio-social effects of chemical endocrine disruptors—an ongoing focus of her research.
