FFA Doctoral Student Adam Vačkář Among 23 Czech Researchers Supported by the Fulbright Commission
Among the 23 Czech grantees supported by the Fulbright Commission for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year are four researchers from Brno University of Technology—physicists Petr Liška and Petr Neugebauer, electromagnetic field research specialist Martin Štumpf, and visual artist Adam Vačkář. The prestigious Fulbright Scholarship Programs offer Czech citizens opportunities to study, conduct research, or teach in the United States. To date, 11 researchers from BUT have received the scholarship.Adam Vačkář is about to begin a six-and-a-half-month residency at New York’s elite Parsons School of Design, where he will collaborate with researcher Harpreet Sareen on the Invasive Plant Intelligence project. “The project combines art, technology, and biology to explore plant consciousness through invasive species such as giant hogweed. We will use ultra-sensitive sensors, virtual reality, film, and sound to translate plant signals into immersive works of art. The goal is to foster ecological awareness and interdisciplinary understanding,” presented his plans the visual artist and researcher from the Faculty of Fine Arts, BUT.
