Call for Applications: Erasmus+ BIP – The Digital Body, deadline 30 Sep 2026
FFA BUT offers its students the opportunity to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “The Digital Body”, organised by the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien) in Vienna, Austria.
The programme brings together digital art and performance and focuses on the relationship between the body and digital technologies. Participants will explore how bodily movement and digital systems can be interconnected and how they can jointly create new forms of artistic expression. The programme combines online research and experimental sessions, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a final one-week residency in Vienna, which will conclude with a public presentation of the results.

Who is the programme for?
The programme is intended for Master’s students in the field of arts, particularly those whose artistic practice or studies involve digital art, multimedia, new media, performance, movement, audiovisual production, interactive technologies, or other forms combining physical and digital environments. Participants will work in interdisciplinary groups, engage in practice-based research and experimentation, and collaboratively develop artistic projects.
Programme Structure
Online Phase
Three joint research and experimental sessions (6 hours each), during which participants will develop a shared theoretical foundation, begin experimenting, form working groups, and develop collaborative projects.
On-site Residency in Vienna
A one-week intensive collaboration involving the full group of 30 participants, focused on completing the collaborative projects and preparing them for presentation.
Public Presentation
The residency will conclude with a public Open Lab event, where participants will present the results of their work.
Credits and Recognition
Students who successfully complete the programme will receive 4 ECTS credits. The completed BIP will be duly recorded in their study plan. Both the online component and the on-site residency in Vienna are mandatory parts of the programme.
Erasmus+ Financial Support
Participants will receive Erasmus+ financial support for short-term blended study mobility (€79 per day + travel support). The amount of funding and the conditions for its provision are subject to the current Erasmus+ programme rules. The financial support is intended primarily to cover costs associated with travel and the stay abroad.

The following documents must be attached to the e-application:
- motivation letter, in which the applicant explains their interest in participating in the programme and describes any experience or artistic practice relevant to the BIP topic,
- GDPR document.
Number of places: 4. Applicants will be selected based on an assessment of their applications. Particular consideration will be given to the applicant’s motivation, the relevance of their artistic practice or field of study to the programme topic, and their potential for active participation in interdisciplinary collaboration.
